Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba (Engr.) Gbenga Daniel has described Chief Ayo Adebanjo as a unique democrat and very powerful voice in Nigerian politics.
In his message on the occasion of the 89th birthday anniversary of the veteran politician signed by his chief press officer Ayo Giwa, the former Governor stated that Pa Adebanjo is undoubtedly one of the few remaining titans who have ‘seen it all’ and also one of the most outstanding personalities ever produced by the Yoruba nation.
“Articulate, blunt, logical and consistent, Pa Adebanjo has continued to hold aloft the democratic ideals of the founding fathers of the nation most especially the political ethics of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. He has, over the years, remained ever-principled and never compromising”, he said.
According to the former Governor, the remarkable contributions of the elder statesman to the development of the nation’s democracy, his integrity and altruistic service have won him respect from across the political spectrum and put him at a foremost spot as an exceptional democrat, a living legend and natural leader whose thoughts and speeches will continue to have a profound influence on many generations.
Otunba Daniel then, on behalf of his family, joined others in celebrating Chief Adebanjo’s life while wishing him the most remarkable celebration and more years of robust health and worthy service to the nation and humanity.
