BY SIMON ATEBA/WASHINGTON DC

President Muhammadu Buhari emerged alive from his private residence on Friday to the delight of his supporters and the embarrassment of those who had wished him dead or had claimed that he had become so bad he could no longer walk, let alone lead Nigeria.

He attended the Juma’at prayer at the presidential palace and appeared to be very fit, greeting people and walking majestically.

THE SIMON ATEBA NEWS had warned in an article this week never to “write off a retired Army Major General” and admonished those wishing the President dead, including a former Minister of Aviation who is battling corruption charges, Femi Fani-Kayode, that Mr. Buhari had overcome many battles and triumphed against odds in the past and was able to do it again.

Mr. Buhari who returned from a 50-day medical vacation from the United Kingdom on March 10 appeared to be doing well for sometime and things seemed to be worsening again. He went out of public view and skipped three cabinet meetings as well as last week Friday prayer.

His absence led many to conclude that he had become too sick to lead Nigeria and THE PUNCH newspaper urged him to resign in a shocking editorial published on Thursday.
