In late May during the 21st Annual Webby Awards, Archit Bhargava, Niantic’s global product marketing lead, hinted that Legendaries might be released this summer. Ever since the gym update, trainers have wondering if Legendaries will appear once Level 5 raids start appearing. Others think we may see Legendaries at the Pokemon Go Chicago Event. With so many rumors swirling around, now is a good time to refresh yourself on which Legendaries are part of Generation 1 and Generation 2.
Legendary Pokemon in Gen 1
Here are the Legendaries that are still missing from Gen 1, along with their Max CP. We’ve been waiting a long time for these:
- Moltres (3272)
- Zapdos (3330)
- Articuno (2933)
- Mewtwo (4760)
- Mew (3083)
Legendary Pokemon in Gen 2
Here are the Legendary Pokemon from Generation 2, along with their Max CP.
- Raikou (3349)
- Entei (3412)
- Suicune (2823)
- Lugia (3598)
- Ho-Oh (4650)
- Celebi
But these aren’t the only Pokemon from Gen 2 that we haven’t seen yet. Although they aren’t Legendaries, very few Unowns have been caught in the wild. And Smeargle and Delibird are still missing from the game. These two are missing for reasons similar to why it took so long to find Ditto: their moves are more difficult to code.
Legendary Pokemon in Gen 3
Gen 3 hasn’t even been released yet, so it’s doubtful these will be seen in the game anytime soon. But here are the Legendaries for Gen 3, for bonus information:
- Groudon
- Rayquaza
- Kyogre
- Latios
- Latias
