FG appoints new DG for NAGGW

The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Bukar Hassan as new
Director-General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall
(NAGGW).

Hassan replaced Mr. Goni Ahmed, who had been the
director-general since the inception of the agency until his recent
disengagement at the expiration of his four-year tenure.

In a short speech during the take-over ceremony, Hassan said he
was actually coming back home. He said there was very little he
might not know in the agency.

He urged the staff to work with him as a team, saying that he
had no doubt that the team he was seeing around were of familiar
faces except for a few and believed the teamwork would produce good
results. He also emphasised the need to work with the junior staff,
saying that most contributions come from the lower cadre.
