Leesi Ebenezer Mitee
CEO of the Nigerian Lawyers Directory, Lessi Ebenezer Mitee, has
tasked the NBA led administration of Paul Usoro, SAN, to make the
modern online payment system a high priority.
Shifting from the physical method of paying dues and practising
fees which according to him is primitive and a disgrace to the NBA,
Mr. Mitee said that the online method of payment will help lawyers
who are outside Nigeria between January — March to pay the required
fees and dues at the proper time.
Below reads his statement
One area that needs urgent attention at the NEC meeting is
online payment of all practising fees and branch dues by
all Nigerian legal practitioners.
The system of physically going to banks to pay such fees and
dues is primitive and a disgrace to the NBA.
Such a system even makes it impossible for lawyers who are
outside Nigeria between January – March to pay the required fees
and dues at the proper time. Online payment eliminates such a
problem, no matter where a lawyer is in the world.
Changing the system to a modern online payment system should
therefore be a high priority of the Paul Usoro
administration.
If the administration is unable to achieve this, it will
haunt this current NBA National Executive.
