HIS DRIVER WANTED TO CRASH THROUGH! We wanted to rob Alex Badeh, not kill him, suspect says in viral video [Watch]

Hours after the Nigeria Police Force said it would not be
parading the killers of a former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice
Marshall Alex Badeh, a video has gone viral purportedly showing one
of the killers making a confession.

TheNigerialawyer had earlier, on Thursday, reported that the
Police postponed the presentation of the five suspects arrested in
connection with Badeh’s killing indefinitely so as not to
jeopardise ongoing investigation into the case.

But a video showing a suspect, who identified himself simply as
Shaibu, has gone viral on social media.

The suspect, who spoke in the Hausa Language, said, according to
a Twitter user who posted a translation, that he and his gang had
merely wanted to rob Badeh of some money they believed he was
carrying with him in the car.

The Twitter user wrote:

Lemme oblige u bro. His name is Shaibu from Barde. his elder
brother Ciroma came from the market and told him that he got intel
that old soldier(Badeh) has bought another land and would be coming
to make payment so so day. They decided to waylay him and collect
the money.

Those that had arms blocked the car in front while the others
followed them from behind in case they try to turn. Badeh’s driver
opted to charge through and ciroma opened fire on them. They opened
the car and saw a lot of cash but the guy cannot confirm how much
was inside.
