Mr. Adesina Ogunlana, the immediate past Chairman of the
Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja branch, has finally been released
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), TNL had
learnt.
According to the information gathered by TNL, Mr. Ogunlana was
released after spending 82 hours in the custody of the anti-graft
agency. He added that the Commission had earlier refused releasing
him after even after satisfying the bail conditions.
His words:
“Even after satisfying stiff bail conditions and coping with
serial interrogations, the EFCC was unprepared to release me and
said so bluntly to my lawyers’ faces.
“Until that special irresistible Divine intervention. Greatest
thanks and appreciation to the Almighty.”’

Celebrating his release, Mr. Ogunlana shared pictures of himself
at 81 Division Guest House, Ikoyi, where one according to him, one
of there ardent supporters insisted on marking his release at about
10: 10 pm in a eatery. He also thanked other members of the Tiger
Branch for their support all through.
TNL recalls that members of the NBA Ikeja branch had earlier
petitioned the immediate past president of the NBA, A.B. Mahmoud,
SAN, alleging fraudulent conversion of the branch fund and gross
abuse of office against Mr. Adeshina Ogunlana.
