Lagos Assembly to include Ikoyi, GRA, Apapa in Tenancy Law – TheNigerialawyer

Lagos State House of Assembly has unveiled plans to redress
dichotomy associated with the state tenancy law with a submission
that “what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

” A bill which was read for the second time had sought to
include Apapa, GRA, Ikoyi among others as parts of areas that
tenancy law would affect.

This is to be known as “A Bill For A Law to Amend the
Relationship Between Tenant and the owner of the property Bill,
2019.”

Chairman of the House Committee on Housing, Hon. Ibrahim Layode,
stated that the amendment “specifies on the agreement between the
landlord and the tenant.

It talks about advance payment between the landlord and the
tenant.
