Judge pickets EFCC for frustrating Dalori’s trial at Fed
High Court
The Presiding Judge of Court 10 at the Federal High Court in
Abuja, Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo has expressed displeasure over the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC’s) ‘deliberate’
efforts to frustrate the smooth trial of the Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of Galaxy Transportation and Construction
Services Limited, Engr. Babagana Dalori.
Justice Taiwo, at the Court 10 Room on Thursday, ordered EFCC to
produce Dalori in person at the next court hearing on September 10.
He also questioned the anti-graft agency’s counsel as to why EFCC
failed to produce the Galaxy Services CEO at the High Court
today.
The Presiding Judge, noted that the anti-graft agency perhaps
has the intent to deliberately frustrate their detainee’s speedy
trial that is why it ‘hurriedly’ filed four charges against Dalori
at the Upper Area Court 2 in Nyanya yesterday, barely 24 hours to
hearing in the litigation at the Federal High Court.
PRNigeria[1] gathered though counsel
to EFCC, Maryam Aminu was represented at the Court, the lead
counsel to Mr. Dalori, Joe Kyari Gadzama (SAN) and four other
lawyers of the Galaxy Ltd Boss, attended Thursday’s hearing.
Gadzama, while making a case for his client, also demanded that
100 million be payed as damages to Dalori for the violation of his
fundamental human rights by the EFCC.
However, Mr. Gadzama and the four other lawyers representing
Dalori refused to comment on the ruling delivered by the Presiding
Judge, after the hearing.
