Governor AbdulRazaq Commends Emirate Stakeholders on
Ilorin School Project
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has commended
members of Ilorin Emirate Stakeholders Forum for initiating school
project as community development effort.
AbdulRazaq made the commendation while commissioning new
standard classrooms and toilets donated by the Ilorin based
socio-cultural group, for people of Deseni, Alaparo and Oteleko
Communities in Moro Local Government Council of the state.
While promising to revamp the infrastructure decay in some
public schools in the state, the governor assured the community of
provision of water borehole and other amenities to compliment the
structures being put in place by the forum.
Abdulrazak said that his administration is committed to ensuring
better and conducive environments for learning in all public
schools in the state.
Speaking on the school project on behalf of the forum, Dr
Abubakar Aliagan said the idea of building the edifice was
conceived in 2017 when one of its members saw the terrible
dilapidation of the only primary school in the community.
Dr Aliagan said considering the health hazards and security
implication to the life of the pupils and students, the Ilorin
Emirate Stakeholders decided to construct a befitting edifice
within the premises of the school.
He said: “There were only two decayed rooms being used for
pupils of primary one to six and headmaster’s office respectively
until the group took it upon itself to build a more befitting
spacious ones hence the structure in place today.
Aliagan urged the beneficiary community to make judicious use of
the structure, as many other social amenities would soon visit the
place.
Responding to the gesture, the Leader of Alaparo Community,
Magaji Aliu Ajadi commended the forum for the structure and
appreciated the presence of the governor at the commissioning of
the project.
Ajadi also used the opportunity of the occasion to call for
provision of social amenities in the community including
electricity, road network, potable water supply among others.
