The NBA President, Paul Usoro, SAN, has noted that, the process
of incorporating the NBA as an incorporated trustee has been
completed.
The learned silk made this observation amongst other new
resolutions reached at the National Executive Council meeting held
on the 5th day of December, 2019, at NBA National House in
Abuja.
He also noted that stakeholders including the NBA, Council of
Legal Education, NUC met with the AGF on the NOUN issue and the
outcome is that the backlog graduates will undergo a 1-year
remedial programme, and those who pass will be admitted for Bar
Part 2.
Also noted is that the TCCP 2020 Committee will be constituted
soon, so that they can start planning at once for next year’s
Conference; that ECNBA is to be constituted very soon as well so
that they can start planning the 2020 National elections.
On the NBA 2020 elections , it was stated that new rules will be
introduced to sanitise the election process.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN,
has also been lauded for remitting the 10% entitlement of the NBA
Ikorodu branch.
TNL confirmed the development this evening that the entitlement
which was earlier withheld has been released.
In another development, it was as well gathered that the
inauguration of the Young Lawyer’s Forum Governing Council has been
fixed for the 6th day of December, 2019.
