The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has debunked the
information making the rounds that there is no Aggregator in Kano
State to handle free business registration that the Commission
promised Nigerians.

In a tweet on Saturday sighted by Nairalaw (TNL), the
Commission described the information as ‘false’ and urged the
public to ignore same
“The attention of the Corporate Affairs Commission has been
drawn to the report in the social media on the continous absence of
the Aggregator for Kano State for the Federal Government’s free
Business Name registration.
“The Commission wishes to advise members of the public to ignore
the false information.” the statement reads in part.
According to the Commission, the “Aggregator has relocated to
the Murtala Mohammed Library Complex located at No. 3094 Ahmadu
Bello Way, Kano at the instance of the State Government, in order
to accommodate the large number of persons turning out for the
registration. Notice of the relocation has been duly posted at the
former address.”
They advised all interested persons to visit the new address to
get registered.
TNL recalls that A legal Practitioner, Ujong Okpa, Esq. has
petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related
Offences Commission over alleged illegal ways deplored by the CAC
aggregators to collect money from Nigerians.
In a petition titled “REPORT OF CORRUPT AND ILLEGAL PRACTICES OF
CAC MSMEs AGGREGATORS CONTRARY TO SECTION 8(1) OF THE ICPC ACT
2000″ Mr. Okpa said he refused to pay the mandated N700 by the
Commission’s aggregators and captured it on tape.
“I am a legal practitioner who by virtue of his being a citizen
of Nigeria is entitled to the free registration of 250,000 Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises the Federal Government committed
itself to register as part of the post Covid-19 pandemic survival
intervention in support of business within the country.
“In view of this, the Federal Government through the Corporate
Affairs Commission (CAC) employed 37 Aggregators across the various
states of the country, including the Federal Capital Territory,
Abuja, to avoid traffic on the CAC website and decongest the CAC
offices across the nation. Of the 250,000 businesses earmarked to
be registered, each state was allocated 6606 slots, except for
Abia, Lagos and Kano that were allocated 7906, 9084 and 8406 slots
respectively.” the petition partly reads
