The Egyptian superstar is back in training following a second
negative test for COVID-19.
Two weeks after returning a positive test for COVID-19 while on
International duty and entering into self-isolation in Egypt,
Mohamed Salah is now back in full training with Liverpool and
expected to face Atalanta after returning a second negative
test.
That was Jürgen Klopp’s verdict at his pre-match press
conference ahead of tomorrow’s Champions
League tie against Atalanta, the Reds’ fourth group stage match
and a chance to mathematically ensure their place in the knockout
rounds with a victory.
“Mo trained today and looked really, really good,” the Liverpool
manager said during a break in preparations for tomorrow night’s
game at Anfield. “He has another negative test, like the rest, so
he is available and now we will have to see what we can do with
that.”
The manager wouldn’t be drawn on commenting on other players
specifically, though, saying only that “one looks closer and the
other not so much” when asked about the likes of missing
midfielders Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, and Xherdan
Shaqiri.

Thiago re-joined training ahead of the weekend but wasn’t fit to
make the bench against Leicester
City, and so there seems some reason to hope he will at least
be in the squad on Wednesday evening—though it could also be
Henderson nearing a return.
Shaqiri, meanwhile, is out due to an unspecified muscle injury
that occured while he was on international duty—with Klopp
revealing over the weekend the player hadn’t been aware of it until
returning to Liverpool and undergoing a scan.
