Osoba on Arise Television on Wednesday said that it was wrong
for the same party to sing in discordant tunes, maintaining that it
was not helpful for the image of the All Progressives Congress
(APC).

The APC chieftain said, ‘Garba Shehu was former President of
Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) a well grounded professional, I will
counsel that he weighs his words and be careful in terms of
interventions.

“We are one government that shouldn’t act like opposition to
ourselves. The Federal Government doesn’t have one inch of land in
Nigeria and the federal capital territory.

“The constitution vested the land use section on the governors.
The governors are in control of the areas because they are elected
and must listen to the feelings of their people.”

He added that the APC governors briefed them and had even
consulted with their Northern colleagues. “The Northern governors
were the first to recommend ranching. I have been to the world’s
largest producers of cattle; I was in Argentina and Kenya and
didn’t see any herd of cattle on the streets of the countries.

“I don’t know where the problem is. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje
told us he was ready to donate land for ranching. When different
statements are coming from different people in the same party, we
would be contradicting ourselves and it is not good for our party’s
image.”

He added, “In a federation what is good for us cannot be good
for people in the other area. If you want to build a house in any
part of the coastal area, you have to do a solid foundation.

“In many parts of the Northern part of the country, you don’t
need a deep foundation. We are different and must recognize our
differences. I don’t agree that we as one party should be talking
to ourselves on the pages of newspapers, so I condemn the
attitude.”
