NBA Appoints Adeleke Agbola, SAN To Head Caretaker Committee For New Surulere Branch

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has appointed a five-member caretaker committee to oversee the establishment of its newly created Surulere Branch in Lagos State.
The committee will be chaired by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Adeleke Agbola, with Ita Azim serving as secretary. Other members are Roseline Akinbo, Chuka Adimonye, and Ganiyu Adebowale Johnson.
In a statement, NBA General Secretary Adesina Adegbite said the caretaker committee has been mandated to facilitate the emergence of duly elected leaders for the Surulere Branch through a credible electoral process.
“We urge all NBA members residing or working within the Surulere area to fully cooperate with and support the caretaker committee in discharging this important responsibility,” Adegbite stated.
The Surulere Branch is one of two new branches recently created by the NBA to better serve its members in Lagos. A separate caretaker committee headed by Olawale Ajia was also constituted for the new Eti-Osa Branch.
With over 100 branches nationwide, the NBA has moved to increase its reach and representation across Nigeria, especially in densely populated cities like Lagos.
The Surulere caretaker committee’s first task will be to mobilize NBA members within the branch’s jurisdiction and ensure a smooth transition to an elected leadership.
