In a formal petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Adelosoye Alex Adedotun, a Nigerian medical doctor and businessman, has accused Dr. Akintayo Stephen, GText Commercial Broker LLC (GText Homes), Tiger Properties in Dubai, and their associates of defrauding him of $50,000 under the guise of a property purchase.
The petition, filed through the legal firm of Audu Karimu & Co., alleges that Dr. Adedotun was deceived into transferring funds to purchase a one-bedroom apartment at Regina Tower, Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai, a property that never materialized. The legal firm claims that the accused parties, including Dr. Akintayo Stephen and associates Miss Jacklin Njeri, Abisola Awosanya, and Mr. Abimbola Joseph Olupaiye, acted in concert to defraud Dr. Adedotun.
According to the petition, the fraudulent transaction occurred in December 2021. The funds were transferred to an account provided by the accused parties, purportedly tied to the sale of the property. Over two years later, no property has been delivered, and the accused individuals have allegedly evaded all attempts by Dr. Adedotun to recover his money or secure the promised apartment.
The petition details numerous instances of evasive behavior, false promises, and sharp practices by the accused, further uncovering what appears to be a wider scheme targeting unsuspecting Nigerians. The petition also includes contact details and account information used in the alleged fraud.
Dr. Adedotun’s legal representatives have called on the Nigeria Police Force, specifically INTERPOL, to investigate the matter thoroughly and recover the lost funds. They have also urged the authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
LETTER OF COMPLAINT
The petition emphasizes the severe impact of the financial loss on Dr. Adedotun’s business and personal endeavors and seeks the intervention of the police to prevent further harm to others who might fall victim to similar schemes.
