“We Assure Thorough Investigation” — Rivers Police Confirm Arrest Of Ahoada East Administrator’s Aides

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that two key suspects linked to the recent violent assault on the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Council, Goodluck Iheanachor, are now in custody.
The suspects—Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Iheanachor, and Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff (COS)—had earlier been declared wanted after a video circulated online showing about 30 machete-wielding individuals attacking the council boss and allegedly forcing him to resign from office.
In a statement issued Friday in Port Harcourt, the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed that both Ekakita and Olodi voluntarily presented themselves to the police on July 10 to assist with ongoing investigations.
“They were promptly interviewed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, and his management team,” Iringe-Koko stated.
She noted that following the preliminary interrogation, the suspects were transferred to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for deeper investigation.
The police called on members of the public who have useful information about the attack to come forward, assuring them of confidentiality and protection of their identity.
“We assure the public that investigations into this matter will be thorough and transparent,” Iringe-Koko added, reiterating the command’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served.
