The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a strong warning to the general public against doing business with three companies found to be operating with fake Certificates of Incorporation.
In a disclaimer released on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Commission stated that the companies listed below are parading documents that were not issued by the CAC and are, therefore, not valid for corporate registration or legal operations.
The affected companies are:
SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265884 & 512862
UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265837 & 553220
PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265844 & 545901
“These companies have been found to possess two different RC numbers each, none of which were issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission,” the statement emphasized.
The Commission advised the public to avoid conducting any form of business or transactions with the named entities, warning that doing so would be entirely at their own risk.
“Anyone that transacts any business with the above-mentioned companies does so at their own risk,” the disclaimer added.
The notice, signed by CAC Management, underscores the Commission’s ongoing commitment to protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s corporate registry and shielding the public from fraudulent activities.
The CAC urged individuals and businesses to verify company registration details directly through its official website or contact offices before engaging in any transactions.
