Saturday, August 20, 2016, Boko Haram terrorist attacked Kuburubu, a village in Damboa local government, Borno State, abducting six 13 people and killing 6 other persons. Members of Civilian JTF, a youth vigilance group have anonymously spoken to Punch via phone, saying that the assailants rode on four motorcycles to the village at 5am while the villagers were still asleep. The spokesperson of the watchful group said that some of the attackers had raided the homes of the villagers, killing six people and kidnapping 13 others. He also said that the aggressors left many wounded. “The hoodlums were in Kuburubu village today (Saturday), riding four motorbikes, they were eight in number and armed with guns. “They attacked the village at about 5 am when everyone was still sleeping; they killed six persons and abducted about 13 others which they led into the bush,” he said. He also reported that those abducted included seven women, five teenage boys and a teenage girl. The insurgents had also ransacked the food items, and taken livestock: goats, camels and the villager’s chickens. The anonymous spokesman also reported that the rebels set the village ablaze after the looting. Kuburubu village is a boundary village between Chibok and Damboa LGAs of Borno State.
