PHOTOS: ISIS Shows Alleged Civilian Casualties of ‘American Airstrike’ in Mosul

In a new photo report purportedly released by the Islamic State, ISIS documenters in the occupied neighborhoods of east Mosul show civilian casualties allegedly killed by an American airstrike. However, this cannot be independently confirmed. Islamic State militants have been conducting their own explosive attacks in east Mosul, mostly with car bombs. Business Insider reports that a recent airstrike near Mosul carried out by the U.S.-led coalition targeted a car bomb factory. Conversely, The Guardian reports that “up to 30 civilians were killed in an airstrike on a district held by Islamic State this week,” but it was not immediately clear if the airstrike was carried out by the U.S. or by Iraqi Forces.
