The Nigeria Revenue Service has unveiled a new institutional tagline, “Inspiring Trust, Sustaining Growth,” as part of its transition from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service into a broader revenue-administration institution.

Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji said the new identity was intended to reflect a stronger emphasis on taxpayer confidence, institutional credibility, efficiency and economic growth.

He argued that sustainable revenue mobilization could not depend simply on higher tax rates and said taxpayers needed confidence that assessments would be fair, information protected and interactions professional.

Adedeji said the government’s reform agenda was increasingly focused on improving collection efficiency, technology and productivity rather than repeatedly raising rates.

He cited electronic invoicing and the Rev 360 tax payment platform as examples of initiatives designed to simplify compliance and reduce the burden on businesses.

The NRS chairman also said the service was investing in internal capacity and developing more technology in-house, including tax-observatory and electronic-invoicing tools.

Chief of Staff Tayo Koleosho said the tagline was intended to express the culture the agency wanted taxpayers to experience rather than function as a slogan alone.

Group Director for Transformation and Strategy Alfred Okoh said the rebranding reflected the NRS’s wider mandate, including non-tax revenue responsibilities.

He said the internal competition that produced the tagline attracted 3,308 staff submissions before the final selection.

Officials said the test of the new identity would be whether taxpayers experienced simpler processes, better service and greater confidence in the institution.
