JAMB Conducts Test For 760 Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Officials

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has
conducted promotion test for 760 officials of the Corporate Affairs
Commission (CAC) nationwide.

JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede said the Computer Based
Test (CBT) which took place in Bwari, Abuja, was meant to guarantee
fairness and equity in conduct of public exams.

He said the board had created a new platform for ‘third party
test’ which carried stipulated number of questions and the results
were released in one hour after the test. He said the test was
conducted using JAMB facility at low cost.

“For any agency that wants to conduct public exam fairly, JAMB
is the right place to go. We conduct exam for 1.7 million
candidates at simultaneously for two weeks in a year and the
remaining weeks, the facilities will be lying idle.”

He said many public bodies have either carried out employment or
promotion tests with the board of recent, which indicated that
“Nigerians have started doing things properly.”

Director of Test Administration, Dr. Yusuf Lawal said candidates
who were not familiar CBT were educated on how to use the computer
prior to the test.

Chairman of Amalgamation Union of Public Corporations, Civil
Service, Technical and Recreation Service Employees (AUPTRE),
Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Ibrahim Kirfi said the union
requested JAMB to conduct the promotion test, because previous
tests were not in line with international best practices. “This is
the most transparent and credible means of assessing the
performance of candidates.”
