Gov. Abiola Ajimobi
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently ahead of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in terms of votes cast, in the Oyo
South Senatorial election.
In four out of the nine local government areas that make the
senatorial district, whose results have been declared as of 8 pm,
the PDP has polled a total of 48,899 votes while the APC is next
with 39,711 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently third with a
total of 22,227 votes.
Incumbent governor Abiola Ajimobi is the candidate of the APC,
Kola Balogun is the candidate of the PDP, while incumbent Senator
Soji Akanbi is the candidate of the African Democratic Congress
(ADC).
With Professor Wole Akinsola as collation officer, the four
local government areas whose results have been turned in by their
various returning officers are Ibarapa East, Ibarapa North, Ibadan
North and Ibadan North West.
Results for Ibarapa North East, Ibadan South East, Ibadan South
West, Ibarapa Central and Ido local government areas are being
awaited.
