NYSC CERTIFICATES ARE NOT NEED FOR ANY ELECTION IN
NIGERIA RATHER PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATES ARE
NEEDED.
Not every person can vote or be voted for in elections in
Nigeria. The Constitution provides for conditions/requirements for
any Nigerian to be eligible to contest/run for an election in
Nigeria. By the constitution the only needed educational
condition/requirement for ANY person running for ANY election in
ANY part of Nigeria is at least a school certificate level or its
equivalent (including Primary Six School Leaving Certificate) or
even proof of ability to read, write, understand and communicate in
English language. Note that, no school certificate will be needed
where a person can prove to Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) that he can read, write, understand and
communicate in the English language.
Participating in the compulsory National Youth Services Corp
program and possessing a discharge certificate from same is not a
requirement or condition for any person to be eligible to contest
for any any election in Nigeria (from local governments elections
to the general/presidential elections).
