…supporters urged to remain calm, law abiding
The Sokoto state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
has described the recent Appeal Court judgement as a miscarriage of
justice.
In a statement by the state Chairman, Sadiq Isah Achida, on
Wednesday after Appeal judgment that sacked two APC National
Assembly lawmakers, Senator Abubakar Shehu Tambuwal and Hon. A.A
Shehu, said “The judgements in respect of Sokoto North and South
Federal Constituency, as well as those in respect of Sokoto South
Senatorial District and Bodinga Dange/Shuni Tureta Federal
Constituency appear to be a clear miscarriage of justice.
“The Sokoto State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress
wishes to notify all its supporters that it has been keenly
following events at the Election appeal Court sitting in
Sokoto.
“The All Progressives Congress wishes to appeal to all our
supporters to continue to remain calm and law abiding. These are
virtues known to be in our character.”
Meanwhile the statement further said, “the APC is examining the
judgements and will leave no stone unturned to ensure that we
defend all the seats won by our party through votes freely cast by
Sokoto people.”
